For NPR- A story of the brain and opioid addiction



Opioid addiction is among the nation's most pressing health problems: a sweeping epidemic that started with more widespread addition to prescription drugs and has spread to higher rates of heroin use. To understand this epidemic, we need to understand how opioids impact the brain. For a story released today on NPR, reported by NHPR reporter Jack Rodolico, I photographed 23-year-old Jack, who shared his story about consuming addictions with alcohol and opioids.
