Richard Ford

Writer Richard Ford for the Financial Times

London's   Financial Times   ran a glowing piece about Portland over the weekend and included some of the city’s new favorites.   I took a few of the images that ran with the article, and by chance, the photos I took for FT of writer Richard Ford ran in the same paper with some of his writing.

I had the honor of photographing novelist Richard Ford for the second time, this time for the Boston Globe. The images accompany this article, in which he said something that really struck me:

“ I think that the solution to writerly problems, whatever the problems are, are always not there, and you have to make them up. It’s not a matter of finding a needle in a haystack. There is no haystack, and there is no needle."

-Richard Ford
